Julian Eccles is the Director of Communications at the media and telecommunications regulator Ofcom.
From 2000-5 he was Director of Communications at BSkyB when the company gained more than 4 million subscribers, launched Sky+ and shifted its appeal as an entertainment company targeting families.
Prior to this he was Communications Director at the BT/BSkyB/HSBC/Panasonic Joint Venture British Interactive Broadcasting.
Julian was a Special Adviser to the Secretary of State at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport from 1997-98 following several years as a consultant at the public relations company Hill & Knowlton.
He is an occasional broadsheet travel writer.
