Tom Hings began his career in advertising at Cogent Elliott and then moved to Lintas:London. In 1990 he jumped over the fence to become a client joining Allied Breweries working most notably on the brand management of Castlemaine XXXX. In 1995 he became Marketing Manager at Carlsberg-Tetley, responsible for Carlsberg Lager. He later became Marketing Controller for Lagers, at which point he re-launched Carlsberg and Carlsberg Export.
Tom joined Royal Mail in 2002 as Head of Brand and Advertising. He was responsible for introducing a new brand strategy and developing a new communications campaign (With us it’s personal). In May 2006 Tom was promoted to Director of Brand Marketing. He is now focusing on driving improvements to brand perception and the customer experience, simplifying the presentation of the brand’s product portfolio and delivering a new brand and communications strategy that repositions the brand to enable Royal Mail to effectively compete in a deregulated market.
