Welcome from the Editor
The world of media is changing more rapidly than ever before, and
one of the many positive outcomes of change is that it often generates
innovation. So it is timely that we should choose 2007 to launch the MEGAs
- our MediaGuardian Innovation Awards designed to recognise and celebrate innovation
across the media industry.
These visionary awards will recognise current achievements and herald those
of the future. The finalists and winners will represent those innovators in
UK media who act as a catalyst for change and inspire the next generation
with their forward thinking and challenging approach.
The wide-ranging awards embrace innovation in design, technology,
advertising, PR, social software and many other categories. The judges
more than live up to the vision of the awards and we are privileged to have
such a formidable range of senior industry figures who represent the very
best in their field.
I look forward to celebrating with the winners at the Awards ceremony in
March 2008. By then, the media world will have changed yet again - but
change is of course the only constant.
